In a grand mansion, a secret room lies,
Enigmatic study with wonders disguised.
Books fill the space, a treasure to behold,
Meshed shelves guard mysteries untold.

Cage-shaped windows,
A realm of mystique locked
A hidden door frees a beam of light,
A mysterious staircase, veiled from sight.

Where it leads, none can tell,
To a kingdom of magic or a hidden hell?
In this study room, secrets bloom,
A shelter of Snowman's cocoon.

Zoey’s Extraodinary Playlist

DESIGN IDEAS:

"Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist" is a captivating musical TV show set against the backdrop of San Francisco, where Zoey, a newcomer to a cutting-edge IT company, finds herself in a bustling skyscraper office. The use of glass and transparency as central design elements, symbolizes the transparency of emotions and connections in Zoey's life. When the music cues begin, the entire cast seamlessly joins in, breaking into song and dance that effortlessly weaves into the storyline. The two-story office space opens up expansive views while symbolically highlighting the initial power dynamic between Zoey and her new boss, Jane. The vibrant use of three core colors - red, yellow, and blue - infuses the set with original energy, reflecting the theme of creativity rooted in the fundamentals of human emotion and expression.

SET DESIGN:
INT. CHUNXIAO’S BEDROOM

DESIGN IDEAS: Chunxiao is a typical good student in a Chinese middle school who secretly fantasy herself wearing stockings, influenced by Japanese animation. The BOXY design of the built-in furnitures serves as a metaphor representing Chunxiao's entrapment within the rigid Chinese educationa system and the weight of soceital expectiations. Both the window and the door are both imprisoned by the surrounding cabinets, shelves or closet.

The color BROWN adds weight to the environment and creates a stark CONTRAST with the light PURPLE and pink shades that truly represent Chunxiao. This DISHARMONY reflects the inner conflict and contradiction Chunxiao, expressing the discord within her character.

SET DESIGN:
INT. MIDDLE SCHOOL CLASSROOM

DESIGN IDEAS:

The story is set in a fictional city in 2010s Northern China, and authenticity plays a pivotal role in the design. The bluish walls are intentionally chosen to impart a COLD tone to the environment, setting the stage for the overall color palette. Specifically, the decision to use RED characters above the blackboard signifies the cultural values of politeness, hard work, and the pursuit of excellence. However, within this color palette, red also serves as a symbol of DANGER, foreshadowing the events that unfold in the story.

Chunxiao encounters a weird chemistry class TA who ultimately deceives her by lying he will use her stockings for material experiments for astronaut. Her innocence and trust in him shatter when she later discovers that he might be involved in the bizarre underground market of girls’ stocking sales. The classroom is the focal point of these events, and the increasing presence of the color red throughout the film serves as a metaphor for the escalating tension and danger as the story progresses.
